IDRC is one of the first development agencies to embrace ICTs as a key means to foster development and alleviate poverty. Their Telecentre.org initiative is aimed at helping community telecentres around the world increase their capacity and promote digital development.

code::XtremeApps:: programming competition 2010 applied infocomm technologies to reduce energy usage and our impact on the environment.

ClicktoAid.Sg, a media platform marries educational and entertaining games to raise funds for residents in need. This initiative by POSB and South West CDC garnered SGD 50,000, which will go towards helping over 900 Primary One students from low-income families with their school-going needs.

Computing for Voluntary Welfare Organisations combines the opportunity for the ablest undergraduates from the School of Computing to learn by working on industry-standard computer systems with the opportunity to serve the community in a significant and sustainable way.

A Software-as-a-Service White Paper has been initiated by the Lien Centre for Social Innovation and Accenture to advocate for Software-as-a-Service as a cost effective model in the long term for the delivery of IT services to non profit organisations.

“Little Mercy” Web Games are produced by six final year students from Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Interactive and Digital Media, “Little Mercy” is a platform to engage and educate children on the operations of humanitarian relief.

World of Temasek is a virtual world/role-playing experience of distant 14th century Singapore. Developed by Magma Studios in partnership with the National Heritage Board and drawing on the knowledge of leading subject matter experts, World of Temasek will meticulously recreate Singapore’s colourful historical fabric.
