Overview


There are several forms of addiction in Singapore - the main forms are alcohol abuse, drug abuse, gambling, and smoking, which are handled by different agencies such as the National Council for Problem Gambling, various hospitals, and in particular, the Institute for Mental Health.

National Level


The National Addictions Management Service treats problem gambling and other behavioural addictions (internet, gaming, etc), and substance addictions (alcohol and drugs).

The Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association was established to assist in the rehabilitation of drug addicts and provide assistance and support wherever necessary. You can reach the SANA Hotline at 1800-7334444.

Problem Gambling Helpline - 1800-6668668. Implementing agencies are Care Corner Counselling Centre and Tanjong Pagar FSC.

Smoking Cessation Clinic

Brave Steps provides youth with the knowledge to quit smoking while building in the motivation. Part of the Youth Infinity programme at Ang Mo Kio FSC.

Youth Gambling Roadshow by MCYC Community Services Society has a Docudrama, entitled "False Hope", a talk on gambling, posters displays, and interactive computer games.
